1988 and 1989 BOYS GYMNASTICS TEAMS:
The two seasons of 1988 & 1989 were two of the best in the state’s history. With the talent of these
teams, they combined to erase all previous school records in 1988, and in 1989, they wiped out all of the
1988 school records and established new ones. During the two seasons, they were also City Champions,
Conference Champions, District Champions, and State Champions. These two teams earned the highest
scores ever by a boys high school gymnastics team in Nebraska. The scores were good enough to earn
them the title of the No. 1 boys high school gymnastics team in the entire nation for two seasons.
On Top of earning All-American status as a team, several individuals earned individual All-American
honors. The coaches of the 1988 and 1989 Boys Gymnastics teams were Dave Eppert and Mike
Schneider. Congratulations on a job well done by the best-ever boys gymnastics teams at East High
School and in the State of Nebraska!
