Perhaps the most gifted female distance runner to ever compete for East High. Blessed with great endurance, she often competed and won four events in a given track meet. In both her junior and senior seasons she led the 3200 relay team to state championships and was selected to the All-City team for three straight years.

Her outstanding senior cross country season often found her running at the front of the pack, resulting in winning the individual state cross country championship in 1981 and being named to the All-City team.

Her willingness to compete and accept challenges at any distance set her apart as a Spartan competitor.
