Kent was an outstanding two sport athlete during his years as a Spartan. He excelled both on the football field and as a track and field competitor. His football career was capped as a senior by being selected as an All-State defensive tackle. He was an intense lineman who made it very difficult for teams to run at him or away from him as he possessed great agility and quickness. A highlight during his senior year was an outstanding play in which he intercepted a pass and scored a touchdown against a nationally ranked team out of Kansas City.

His accomplishments in track and field were just as impressive as a competitor in the shot put and discus. During his senior year he was the state shot put champion with a toss of 63 feet 7 inches which established a school record that still stands today.

Thank you East Athletic Boosters for your endless support of our Spartans!
