Pat Arthur combined gymnastics skills and flexibility and tremendous wrestling talent into a unique wrestling style which enabled him to consistently score from precarious situations on the mat. His exemplary work ethic in practices and meets led to a career full of dual meet and tournament victories. His contributions to his team helped lead the Spartans to the Class A state title in 1970.

Arthur was an All-City selection at 130 lbs. in 1970, 119 lbs. in 1971 and 126 lbs. in 1972. His undefeated senior season culminated in a state championship at 125 lbs. and selection to the “Wrestling News” All-America team. Truly one of the great wrestlers to ever grace the mat for the Spartans.
